Windows 8 command prompt could be launched in different ways in Windows 8. This tutorial explains in steps different ways to launch Windows 8 command prompt .
From the Start screen user interface, if you start typing you will find yourself automatically typing at the search Apps . While you are in the Start screen interface, simply type “cmd”. This will automatically be typed in the Search Apps text box on the left of the screen. As soon as you finish typing, the “cmd” command option will appear on the right side of your screen, under search results for “cmd”. This is shown in the below screen shot.
Now, double click on the “cmd” application, and your Windows 8 command prompt will appear as shown in the below screenshot.
Windows 8 command prompt could also be started by running the cmd.exe in the windows system32 folder.
First, you will have to open Windows Explorer and navigate through it until you reach the folder C:\Windows\System32 as shown in the below screenshot (or just put the path C;\Windows\System32 in the address line and enter). Then look for cmd.exe application in the System32 folder.
Double click on the cmd.exe application and the command prompt will then launch.
Note: You can also pin Windows 8 command prompt to start. This could be done by right clicking on the cmd.exe application and choosing “Pin to start” or “Pin to taskbar” for easier future access, as shown in the below screen shots.
You can launch Windows 8 command prompt by simply typing “cmd” in the run box command. Press the WIN key and R key to prompt the RUN box command, and then type “cmd” in the run box and press ENTER. Windows 8 command prompt will launch immediately as you can see in the below
